Concert Tickets presale and general sale

Hi
DD is desperate to see her favourite band. The tickets went on pre sale today but sold out immediately. They are supposed to go on general sale on Saturday.
Does anyone know if all tickets are offered for presale or if they will hold some back for the general sale? Tried calling the venue but they didn't know. The concert isn't even listed on ticketmaster, although others in the tour are, so no clue there.

no, they will have only released a certain percentage as the pre sale, the rest will be released on Saturday. Once it's announced on TM it will tell you what time tickets will be released online. Just make sure you're on the site then to get them.0

It's plausible they sold out through pre-sales, but it's also plausible they may look at the demand for tickets & depending on the situation may decide to try other means of dealing with it. (i.e. bigger venue, further dates)
Wouldn't be the first time I've booked tickets only for the venue to change or more dates to be added - depends on the band & venue I guess.Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -

Is it the kaisers?0 -
Often, in my experience, pre-sale tickets aren't always the best seats or are just a few blocks of seats (I don't know about standing, I always want a seat)
If you're desperate to get your hands on some tickets, it might be helpful to have someone phoning through to the venue and another on the internet. Just in case the website can't handle the number of people trying to buy tickets at the same time.0 -
It's the Vamps (never heard of them but I'm old) I would love to see Kaiser Chiefs, got short straw and have to go to this one.
I will hang on til Saturday and see if any go on sale. I'm normally OK with tickets even managed to get Monty Python tickets the first day they went on sale. If I don't manage to get some on Saturday I may look at travelling further afield.
DD never asks for anything so am desperate to do this for her.0 -
I spent all day yesterday, trying to get Kaisers tickets with my "pre-sale code".....our stupid work computers are so slow and the site had crashed by around 9.05am. When I got home, our internet was out of service (thanks Virgin!) and I've been out and about at work all day so I haven't had a chance to try today. I'm not going to bother now, I don't want to be sitting in the top tier at the O2, it's a horrid venue at the best of times.
I'm hoping that they will add extra dates to the tour, if a venue sells out quickly, they often do add another night or two. Here's hoping!
OP..good luck for Saturday!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Promoters want to maximise their money whilst getting cashflow. By pre-selling they get a bunch of upfront cash to pay the first set of bills and it sets the tone for general sale (maybe even generates some hype). They will then release blocks of tickets for general sale but will simultaneously offer blocks of tickets in the 'secondary' markets (usually the one allied to the main ticketing company), marked up above face value.0

I got tickets for the Vamps for my youngest daughter, but... as I was waiting for the link to 'go live' another email popped up four minutes before starting, to tell me that I had been given the wrong link and here was the correct one!
I clicked on immediately, thinking, well there are still a couple of mins to go and you've guessed it, the tickets were already selling like hot cakes :-(
I did manage to get some tickets, but they were not as good seats as I would have hoped.
Thanks for the info about the way tickets are released 19Lottie82, I will go back online on Saturday morning and see if I can get better tickets.
I'm not worried about selling on the first lot as The Vamps and also 5 Seconds of Summer are the new 1 Direction and are very, very popular with teenage and pre-teen girls. :-)
I hope you get your tickets, I know how dificult it is xxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
oh dear god, we didn't need a one direction clone, save yourself & your daughter & don't feed them, let them die......
preferrably in fire...
(as you can tell, not a directioner!)
(PS. Should also point out I mean The Vamps, not your daughter, I'd prescribe a musical education for her!)Retired member - fed up with the general tone of the place.0 -
I've often found I've got good seats when general sale happens .....and often later when additional blocks are released.
If pre-sale was genuinely only for fans (fan club members/forum members etc) instead of the world and its dog it'd be a far simpler process.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
