seeking advice re ending Conts Jobseekers & claiming Maternity Allowance

Options
Hi,
I wasnt sure where to post this question, so have put it in the Benefits section of MSE, but thought best to also post here due to this being where mums hang out!

I'm confused what to do regarding ending Conts based Jobseekers (was made redundant just after becomming pregnant), and starting Maternity Allowance (my advisor believes I am entitled as I worked during the qualifying period)

This is a link to the thread I started:

Any advice / experience would be greatly recieved.

    3. Eligibility
    Maternity allowance for 39 weeks
You might get Maternity Allowance for 39 weeks if:

you’re employed, but you can’t get Statutory Maternity Pay
you’re self-employed and paying Class 2 National Insurance contributions
you’re self-employed and have a Certificate of Small Earnings Exception
    you’ve recently stopped working
    You must also have been:

employed or self-employed for at least 26 weeks in the 66 weeks before the week your baby is due
earning at least £30 a week over any 13-week period
You may still qualify if you’ve recently stopped working. It doesn’t matter if you had different jobs or periods of unemployment.

    From gov.uk

When does your 66 week period begin and end? Did you work for 26 weeks during that time? I claimed MA from 2010 to 2011 and had had a few different jobs, I got the full amount for the full length of time.
