i read the gatwick hotel thread but don't need car parking and wonder which of these is nearest? or if anyone can recommend any others?

Why are you looking at hotels in London, you do realise the distance from London it's self to Gatwick is the best part of 30 miles? There are several hotels around Gatwick Airport for the same money, some on site and many within 5 miles. In a couple of weeks time we will be staying at the Sofitel Gatwick Airport which is 2 min walk to the check in area, North Terminal.

Yes , travelodges at gatwick , premier inn right at the front door to north terminal

As others have said, these are all London hotels where as Gatwick Airport is near Crawley & Horley. If you want to stay in London for some reason then Victoria is the best out of those listed as from Victoria you catch the Gatwick Express to the airport. Alternatively South Kensington would be 1 tube to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express (or a regular train there to avoid the express premium)


If there isnt a reason to want to be in london then there are plenty of other hotels much closer to the airport as others have pointed out.

Just checked and there's engineering works on the railway lines to gatwick until at least 7:30 am on Sunday 6th July with buses doing the last part

Most definitely worth staying at gatwick and using the hoppa buses from the travelodges or the premier inn

Worth checking bus services from the hotels, not all run 24hrs, if it's an early flight there may not be a service from the hotel to cover it, We found this out a couple of years ago, however, not the end of the world as there are always taxis.

No need to pay for parking then. Just pay the room rate.

FYI When flying VAA I stay at the Hilton which is connected to the South Terminal. Maybe not moneysaving but certainly worrysaving

None of those hotels are any where near Gatwick. What a strange search engine result if you put in that you wanted to stay in Gatwick.

Possibly the EasyHotel search engine hence why all the results are EasyHotel and not close to Gatwick as they dont have any nearer than victoria

Look at booking.com with a map search, or look at google or similar online mappings that show a business overlay - a combination of these will truly show you the hotels close to Gatwick.
