I love cold pasta 'salads' in the summer! I use pasta shells and a cream type salad dressing but you can use any pasta or dressing you like. The basics are the pasta, a sauce/dressing, some veg (usually I use peas and grated carrot), spring onion, and either with or without a meat. I've used leftover chicken, tuna, salmon bits, or beef thats left from a Sunday roast chopped really fine - almost shredded. Last time I tried some of the Tesco Honey & Mustard salad dressing (using beef) and it was really tasty!
It can be a meal on it's own with a bit of garlic bread or as more of a side dish if the meat is omitted. Mmmmmmmm!:D0 -
Yep Mookybargirl, Frylight is a godsend! Sorry to sound a bit silly, but what's panchetta? Trying to find some new SW friendly recipes as most of mine seem to use tomatoes all the time! I have just tried a quorn chili recipe...tasted lush! Was great as cooking it from scratch meant I could leave the kidney beans out! I hate them but my blokie says they are what makes a chili! But I can't stand them! Let me know if you fancy the recipe!

A twist on Pesto ... almost identical (basil, parmesan, pine nuts and olive oil) but replace the basil with rocket or watercress (or both).
Not my idea, I confess (indeed I've just noticed that Sacla do this ready made), but is does work very well and, if you're making your own, rocket is cheaper than basil (at least from Tesco it is).My eyes! The goggles do nothing!0 -
Carabonara - fry onion, bacon and garlic, add eggs and cheese and cooked pasta cook until just barely set, sprinkle with parmesan
Mac Cheese + variation - basic cheese sauce with pasta sprinkle with cheddar cheese and brown under the grill. To modify, add cooked bacon, sausages or a tin of salmon to mix before you grill
Bacon and Peas - fry bacon and onion, add a handful of frozen peas cook for a few mins, pour in some cream and simmer until thick
Basic tomato sauce, add bacon for amatriciana or tuna and olives for puttanesca
Bolognaise and pesto also yum but more of a faff to make.0 -
Donner, panchetta is an italian bacon. You can buy it cubed (although this way tends to have a lot of fat) or in slices. It's good for wrapping up chicken in if you want to make chicken kievs (using quark for the filling). You could just use normal bacon thoughLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0
