Also copy it to the range and let them know that unless they call off their agents then you may be holding the range liable for any costs

It does say on the letter I can still appeal. So, if I send a copy of the template letter its not worth including a point four in the section about denying liability?

You appear to be muddling two different letters. You DO NOT APPEAL when the keeper writes, naming the driver - that driver WAITS to get a PCN in the post.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • I have appealed my PCN using the template from this site and have received a reply stating " as you appealed outside the 28 day period (PCN dates from Feb) there is no requirement to enter into an appeal for this charge. However we have responded out of courtesy on this occasion(!). Had you appealed within the timeframe, the following response would have been forthcoming". And then it goes into two page letter stating reasons for rejection, including the fact that my letter was a standard letter taken from internet forums copies of which they receive on a regular basis:D.There has never been any mention of POPLA in any letters. Do I take this as a rejection letter and ask for POPLA code or give them the driver details and start again. Bit confused so any help much appreciated.

not sure why you are confused

you got a pcn in feb 2014
you did not appeal it within the 28 days allowed
you have appealed it later than the 28 day appeal window
they sent you a rejection letter and detailed its not within the time frame
therefore they do not have to issue a popla code due to the late submission

so what is confusing about that ?

and why did you not use your previous thread instead of starting a new thread ?

Who ticketed you ? And did you appeal after their arbitrary 28 day period? Not that it matters they can issue a popla verification code at any time, their made up rule of 28 days is just a way they scam with

Thanks Redx, the two threads have been merged :)
  • Sorry, didnt know about merging threads.
  • I just wasn't sure if it was a proper rejection letter as they said they didn't have to respond.

well they have not cancelled the pcn , they havent issued a popla code due to it not being in their "appeal time frame" , so I would assume the pcn still stands and they think you still owe them money , hence the courtesy letter

the fact remains that this should have beenb appealed back in feb or early march , it didnt happen , then you posted on here in this "bang to rights" thread in april , you were advised to appeal , which you have now done , and your appeal seems to have been rejected

so I would say you need to now send them a letter , naming the driver etc (to reset the clock)

when the driver gets a pcn in their own name , it needs the same template letter sending , but as driver not as registered keeper , within the time limits , then any rejection will achieve the popla code

    then appeal to popla

in this thread one person already advised on naming the driver , well its deffo that time now, as I already told you in post #11
