They must have priority over all other formatting tags, but this seems not to be the case as 'quote' tags have higher priority.

I had problems replying to Help, please, in using the Quote function. thread because of this.

E.g. it works fine for
[/QUOTE]
and for
[QUOTE]
, but stops working as soon as both 'quote' tags are used inside the 'code' tags in the correct order:
[QUOTE]...[/QUOTE]
or
[QUOTE]
in separate code tags goes first and then followed by by the closing 'quote' tag in separate 'code' tags:

You could use the NOPARSE tag e.g.

    [NOPARSE]

:d - for some mysterious reason this suppresses the following smiley

    ETA:

NOPARSE (in []) seems to remove all formatting in the post - above and below. Can it be used locally? I tried to use it together with /NOPARSE and this didn't help.

VB includes a NOPARSE tag, which you can use for displaying BB code as normal text. Any BB code enclosed between the NOPARSE tags will be ignored when the post is parsed and rendered by the browser, so not all formatting in the post is lost.

    [NOPARSE]
