    Are you sure about that?

OP clearly states as notanewuser quoted "after collecting the order"
so where did they "collect" it from if not the store?
  • Sorry, to clarify.

The website said 38 washes, the box says 22.
It is the correct product so there's nothing they can do, it's an error on the website.

It does say it's the new compact dose so I thought it was concentrated so same weight as previous wouldn't matter. But it's compact so it provides 22 washes.

I ordered online but collected, sorry about writing received. I meant that they'd gone to get it for me rather than me picking it up.

I guess that as it's just a website error that's it. Just a bit annoyed as I thought I'd got a great deal and now have to drive 20 mins to get the refund. :( Not exactly MSE.

Perhaps the confusion between "receiving" and "collecting" are because this was a Click And Collect purchase. If the OP collected the box off of the shelf then the correct information was visible and there is no legal right to a refund though the shop has offered one. If Click And Collect then the goods were "received"/"collected" in bags and not examined until unpacked. In that case the goods were not as described and there is a legal right to a refund and it does not seem unreasonable to be asked to return the goods for a refund. I would expect a "goodwill gesture" of some sort for the inconvenience.

  • Waitrose are completely no quibble.

Email them and they will send you some vouchers I am sure.

If that wouldn't satisfy you then I would suggest just taking the item back for a refund
  • Think I'll email. No harm in asking.

They are substituting with smaller boxes as they are continually out of stock of the 30 box, but then you won't get the offer. Last week they sent me one 30 box and two 20s but offer didn't come off and I paid more so I returned them. They did the same again today.
Really fed up with this now. They need to up their orders to fulfill the deals.
You need to complain direct to head office.
Their forum has now gone so can't get on there. No surprise.

You havent read the rest of the thread have you ? The problem is a mis-description of the product on the website - nothing to do with substitutions
