Yes it's like Xmas here in sense I have my brother and his family over and a couple of close friends ,who would otherwise be on their own , over for a roast dinner and a day catching up.
Was lovely :-)Joined SW on 1.5.14 - Weight 11 stone 11

personally no - there is not the same expectation in my family that we'll all meet up during the Easter break as there is at Christmas.
If I'm not working I usually do make the drive up to see my family at Easter, but this year I took my daughter and nieces away for the first week of the school holidays, and then I was working before and after Easter weekend, so I stayed home over Easter itself (meeting up with the majority of my family means a 6-hour drive each way).0 -
Yes but not quite the same as Christmas.
Did have some of the family over yesterday with a little easter egg hunt for the children. It was a lovely day.0 -
No, no and no.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

Fortunately not like Christmas in that there were four days to see family, see friends and still have more than five minutes to myself to do as I pleased. Bliss!0

No, the way the supermarkets were rammed people were asking each other if it was xmas eve and someone forgot to tell us:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: no if we do we do if we don't we don't definetely not like xmas, no easter is nothing like xmas for us and so much cheaper:D0 -
Sibling brought the kids to see mum and stayed for a long weekend. On the one hand it was really nice to see them as we don't get together that often, with my shifts and their complicated access arrangements. On the other hand I only had the Sat and Sun off work and it would have been nice to do something in my own house/garden for at least part of the weekend, instead of spending all weekend out and about.
But I did get extra easter eggs to make up for it.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
The shops are doing their best to convince us Easter is as big a deal as Christmas, just as theyve started to do with mothers day, valentines, halloween etc.
Personally no I did not see family, they don't live nearby and 4 days off is a chance to get a break from work and relax. Im also not keen to travel at busy times so I'll be visiting them at some point but I dont see the need for it to be specifically easter. Unless you celebrating the religious aspect of course, but if you arent then what is easter? oh we must get together and eat egg shaped chocolate cos M & S told us so...0 -
No Easter is like any other time just with the Monday off.0

No, not like Christmas and I didnt see family, I saw them on Tuesday, not over the weekend. The day easter gets like christmas is the day I give up I think.0
