Thanks. I thought I had added to the parking forum so could not understand where it had gone.

So best advice now is to pay. I guess this is way forward because if not no one would ever pay for a ticket.

And no-one should ever pay a ticket from a Private Parking Company., They have no right to "ticket" you.

Where on earth did you get such ridiculous advice ?

I did not get such advice - it was my interpretation of reading all the information on this website.

Clearly you can appeal - but this takes time to read all the information, and as someone put take a few hours to understand the law and then send in the appeal. If this fails, which is highly likely then there is a second letter.

And if you were forced in court to say who was driving you would have to lie.

Unless you can claim back all your time then you end up worse off anyway. Hence it ends up being better to pay. That was my point.

Just for your information though they illegally charge for using a debit card - this is no longer permitted, but again I have not got time for fighting for 70p.

Thank you for your help though. And good luck with anyone claiming where it was definitely invalid.

An interesting viewpoint. If you don't have the time to appeal there is an appeal service which will do this for you for a flat fee of £16. If they lose the appeal they pay your ticket.

It follows that most appeals can be legally won or they would not be able to offer the service.

No need to lie about the driver in court. this would not help anyway and is only likely to get you Huhned.

It does not take hours! The stickies have templates that you can use and all it takes are one or two simple appeals.

By paying you are helping fund these awful companies so they can continue to harass other drivers.

If you are really going to pay, search for the service that allows you to pay just £16 and they will handle everything. You won't have to pay a penny more.

OP if you really value the time it will take to read the newbies thread higher than the value of the ticket then please take advantage of http://www.parking-prankster.com/appeals-service.html it is run by well respected members of this forum and far better for them to get £16 than a PPC get a lot more which only encourages them to carry on their scam.
