bank holiday drink in the pub....one of my sons wanted me to play football....now I own an iphone 5 with smashed glass!
Its 19months into a 2 year contract. It has been replaced once about 6 months ago as the charger socket overheated and the phone didn't work
even smashed it works fine....but obviously unsightly
options please?

New LCD from eBay is around £30, fairly easy to fit or a local repairer should do the job under £50.====0 -
that's good news, less than I expected......now I just got to find one0

YouTube has many DIY "how to" videos, and then eBay:

Check the descriptions carefully, under £20 tend to be good LCD with cracked touch digitiser, it's an absolute nightmare to separate, so don't be tempted. Look for complete units.====0 -
thanks mate....for the sake of a couple of quid, I will try and find someone who can do the job0

Hi d123 / all
A lot of the adverts say there is no home button....see below. is this an issue for me, my home button is working fine, and isn't cracked
"This unit includes the LCD Display, Glass Digitizer, NOT Metal Mid Frame, NOT HOME BUTTON"
Thanks0 -

Nope, you just peel the old home button from the old screen and put it onto the new screen.0 -
I don't know about iPhones, but often the glass screen (digitiser) can be replaced separately.
With the iphone it's almost impossible, you'd also need a heat plate.
It's not too hard to replace the whole screen -
