Faulty brand new phone
Hi
Bought a new Samsung phone today - was great until I put it on to charge! It refuses to charge and I've tried the plug it came with and by plugging USB end into computer. Nothing. Shops are closed now so I guess I'll have to rake it back in the morning but I wanted to understand what my statutory rights are - can I reject under sale of goods act if it is faulty ? Does this apply to phone contracts ??
Thanks in advance -grrrrrrr!

Yes ! And I've taken it out and checked contacts were clean. It was charged when I left shop and working - just won't charge now I'm home.0

I'd try a different cable if I were you. Problem is as likely to be a dodgy cable as a dodgy phone itself.
Obviously if the phone is faulty you should be able to exchange it. unless there are any signs that you have caused any damage to it of course.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
Has the battery been totally drained ??0

The retailer can replace or repair at their discretion. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Some USB ports struggle to supply enough juice for bigger phones like the Samsung note or similar. Try a wall charger0
