next sales

  • Sorry but i just need to sound off about Next!

Just sent them this stinking letter and an invoice for 4 hours of my time (of course it won't acheive anything, but I feel a bit better! Imagine how much of peoples time they've wasted?).....................

I am writing to complain about the complete waste my time caused by the ordering process for the current Next sale.

On Thursday I received a call from one of your staff asking if I wanted to order. As I hadn’t received the sale list and it wasn’t yet available on the internet, all I could do was book a slot for Next to call me – this morning between 9 and 9.30

On Friday I received the sale listing in the post. Reviewing it and cross referencing it alongside two huge catalogues is a ridiculously long and arduous process – it took me over two hours to identify the 12 items I was interested in. I thought this would still be worthwhile as I would be receiving a preferential call before the sale started at 10am today.

This morning the 9-9.30 slot came and went, so I went on the net and tried calling on my mobile, whilst keeping my landline free for the call. All this to no avail whatsoever – no website access and no phone connection for two hours.

Finally I get a call from Next around 11.30am – two hours late. And of course, by then all the items I was interested in were sold out.

I’m just not interested in being a customer of such a process. Next has wasted over 4 Hours of my time for which I am enclosing an invoice.

Next seriously needs to look at this ridiculous system which just wastes customers’ time and creates antipathy towards the company.

In future Next sales I just won’t bother.

I have been trying to place an order on the site since 10:00am and have been unable to do so. It lets me into quickshop, then won't let me add to my bag which is really frustrating. The one time it actually came up with information, the sizes I wanted were gone. This is very frustrating, especially when you are put in the queue and the system times out and says it can't find server, so you have to start again. Surely, if Next and any other online shopping service doesn't have the technical capabilities to handle high volume, they should not be allowed to hold on line sales! I managed to get a couple of bits I wanted which is good as I was getting so annoyed, my poor boyfriend would have probably suffered later if I hadn't!! lol Still think it was extremely poorly executed sale.

I just managed to complete an online order without too many problems. It started off a bit slow but once it got going it was fine. Luckily though I'd already got most of everything I wanted from my VIP link. Just needed to order a few bits and pieces for my mum.
However, I have to say I'm surprised how little stuff there is left!
My Mum went to a store this morning said there was a lot of stuff but said it was too busy to shop properly, people just grabbing stuff.
She said there was one group of woman who just grabbed a whole rail of clothes then they sat down on the floor sorting through what they wanted! How rude. I wouldn't have the nerve!
I may take a trip to the shops but I'll wait till it quietens down.

I always find that people return alot of stuff after about a week so it is worth going then. And they may not have all the sale stock out yet so I would not worry if you can't make it today.

I might try ang go to ours tomorrow, its at cheshire oaks, there is also a normal next just across the road. Hopefully I should be able to get some great barging then.

I went to the Cheshire Oaks one on Tuesday and got lots of clothes for my lad who is 4. Lots of tops - Jeans - Shirts for £2 and £3. Also hubby got 2 shirts and 1 pair of trousers for work for £9 the lot !!!

Nothing for my little girl who is 18 months. There was hardly any baby wear.

i think you have to have an account to order, in a previous thread there is somewhere a way you can get your account number instantly but i am not sure how

I ended up opening an account and managed to complete a £100 order. I'm quite chuffed with my first attempt!

I found this at the christmas sale, so this time I was prepared, I was first through the door (4.55am), already had my big plastic bag as the staff were handing them out to the 60+ queue of people outside, I then made my way straight to the boys 3 month + section and just grabbed anything that was labelled 2-3 yrs, then once I couldnt lift the bag off of the floor I found a quite corner sorting through what I definately wanted (easy to get carried away and have the lot though) and then I took the few bits back to where I had selected them from. I was amazed by how much stuff was available this morning, the newborn baby section to 12 months was rammed full, lots of gift sets/perfumes which I grabbed for my daughters friends christmas pressies.

I havent had delivery yet of any of my order (20 items) from Weds night, but know that my courier can be a little on the slow side, did state 4-5 days so wont get too concerned until next week, also some bits where 1-2 week wait anyway.
