Thanks mrs-mp, there are various levels of membership, starting with the pic on the car right right to a VIP hospitality pass where you get pit lane access and get to meet the drivers etc, a bit of me wants to ask DH which package he splurged on but I think that might be seen as pushing my luck
Just read Martin's email and I see they're doubling up on Nectar points at Sainsbobs to spend on selected categories, electrical included. I should have enough points left to replace our bedroom DVD player which died, without having to spend a penny :money: :beer:0 -
How exciting, Fizz.
Snacking on tadpoles here. I've been meaning to pull the WM out for months to see if I could do anything to stop the leaks and that's now done, and I've run it on the hottest cycles with a couple of pints of vinegar in it to clear any gunge that may have been in there. It was due to rain all day to day and 'it's turned out nice again' so I'm going to run three dog blankets that need a wash through. That should gunge it up again fairly thoroughly.
Next task is to fit a condensing kit on to the TD.
Betwixt and between I'm spot cleaning the carpets with a microfibre cloth and no chemicals to see if that will improve the look of the place. I know I'm going to have to wash all the carpets this summer, but ideally I'd like them to be pretty stain free by the time I crack the Bi$$ell out again.Better is good enough.0 -

Meeting decluttered and managed to pick up no actions other than a meeting to interview for a new HoF.
Going to catch up on some paperwork now until the boys get home from school - it's been a MrL day so a sprinkley ring doughnut awaits them both. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I think I'm done with paid stuff. Feel really tired and the deadlines are complete. Was going to start on next week but think I'll give it a miss
Done 2 wash loads, just brought in as sky gone rather dark  but think its mostly dry, will fold and pop in airing cupboard for a while to finish off.
Also washed front and back doors. Back was rather grubbystill, tis done now. I even sprayed the mould after my shower this morning, and did the bath mat. I'll go rinses those off. And I have vinegar in the kettle. So while I've been mostly bopping away at the keyboard, I have done some bits that could be left.
Popped out at lunchtime too - birthday present purchased, new work trousers purchased (size smaller :T not sure why as I ate too much dessert on hol) and even got a bargain tankini with frills for DD - even though she has been a bit of a temper tot recently - I'll put it away for our next hols (12 weeks to go, lol, just got back and already on countdown!)
I've checked the holiday purse and we have lots of euros left, spent less than €200 so I don't need to get any extra for the summer :T I really must plan better next year, I think this early holiday (as lovely as it was) has rather messed up my budgeting. I need to tighten the purse strings for a while...
I've also checked what colour the uniform summer dresses are. Have had a brief look and I'm not sure I like them
What do your small girls wear for school in summer?
I think I saw culottes somewhere so we might try some of those. I'm not keen on knicks on show, and DD is always trying to stand on her head or generally just lifts her skirt up  not a problem when she has tights or leggings underneath but she went bare-legged this morning...Bossymoo

the primary i work at can wear either the gingham or striped dresses in the summer OR carry on with their winter skirt/trousers/leggings. some of the boys and girls wear shorts and their uniform top in the summer.
we do have uniform but there not a strict summer change over.
i have noticed a couple of the girls wear the fitted cycle shorts under their summer dresses (you can see the legs of the shorts just below their hemlines)
must admit from a 1st aid point of view i prefer them not wearing tights as its difficult to adminster plasters etc. if they have trousers on we can ask them to pull them up to deal with knees but if girls have tights on we have to ask them to go to the loos and have a look themselves and come back to tell us if they are bleeding or scuffed. then its a 2 person first aid coz if we have to ask a child to remove clothes we need a chaperone.
the bigger ones ive given a plaster to and said if its bleeding pop this on and come back and tell me.
probably way more info than you really wanted there bossySPC~12 ot 124

DD2 has just rung, looks like we have small children for tea. she wants to try a local roller derby group, so her fella and the kids are coming round while she goes to that.
better get a few more jobs done - mostly want to dyson through and give the hall and kitchen a mop, then need to sort food out. i think she wants me to feed the kids rather than eat them;)SPC~12 ot 124

Ah thanks mrs mp!
She has several pairs of cropped leggings that will do the trick! She's in nursery and uniform isn't compulsory but most do wear, and she likes to. We can afford to be less strict though.
Thanks muchly for the ideas (and yes she is a bu@@er for falling and scuffing knees. We've torn 5 pairs of leggings since Christmas!)Bossymoo

Can you explain how you cleaning carpets stains please.
Down on my hands and knees and rubbing the marks with a dampish microfibre cloth, leaving it damp and coming back a bit later to see if the softened grungey bit will then lift when rubbed with a clean wet microfibre cloth. Sometimes, rather surprisingly, they do. And in some cases, the rubbed bits are a lot brighter than the unrubbed bits, so I'm obviously lifting quite a bit of dirt from the fibres without really wetting the carpet or using any chemicals.
The microwave doesn't reek of lodgers' ding cuisine any more. The condenser unit is on the TD and I've had a proper old s/and/s in the cupboard under the front steps and reorganised it. The WM didn't leak at all on the vinegar hot wash and has flooded from the dispenser drawer doing the dog's blankets. I'm going to have to call the engineer out to look at it. Rats.Better is good enough.0
