Santander 123 current ACct and Halifax £5 a month current account

Hello all,

I hope your having a great easter.

I am spending time sorting out my finances, which feels never ending. I currently have a Halifax bank account which pays £5.00 a month, and a newly opened 123 current account with santander. some questions:

Halifax:
I know you have to have two direct debits on the account to qualify for the £5.00 a month. I currently have a phone company DD. I am currently in credit with them, and will be until the end of the year at least, Can this DD still be classed as a Direct Debit by Halifax even though money wont come out until the end of the year?

Santander:
Am I right, you cant get any cash back for DD for a tv lience?

A friend of mine asked do you get any cash back for rent?

is the santander 123 also offer a 18 months o% interest free on the account?
Trinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!

You won't get the Halifax fiver unless 2 direct debits are actually paid from the account - can you request a refund of the credit you have on your account?

There is no Santander cash back for the tv licence or rent.

You have to pay for the Santander 123 Current Account overdraft when you are in it. However, the 123 Credit Card, which you can apply for separately, offers 18 months interest-free on purchases. It also offers cash back on fuel, supermarket and department store spending.

The Santander website lays out very clearly what qualifies for cashback...
    Cashback on household bills:
1% on water, council tax bills and Santander mortgage payments1
2% on gas and electricity bills
3% on mobile phone, home phone, broadband and paid-for TV packages

Ha that's a new one. As it's a direct debit to the council, they probably classed it as council tax! Probably the most expensive council tax in the world (barring ridiculous London penthouses etc of course !)
