Tesco kindle recommendation please

I'm sure you'll love the Paperwhite. I also bought mine from Tesco's and bought an Amazon charger from there too ( I didn't want to risk getting a cheap one ). The return flight took even longer so I kept the charger in my hand luggage and topped up the charge whilst waiting for a flight
My son persuaded me to also buy a dedicated cover from Amazon. I'd intended to get one from Tesco but his logic was " a beautiful piece of equipment deserves a beautiful cover" and he was absolutely right!
It adds a little to the weight and size but protects well and looks lovely.
It was great to have loads of books ready to read in my handbag!
Enjoy your flight and your Kindle!0 -
I'm glad you've found the right one for you,
Yes for flights I would of recommended the paperwhite one as esp over night/long flights you don't get as many annoyed looks from other passengers than having the over head light on :-).
I disagree with Contessa though on the charger, my mum brought me the so called "fast" charger for my kindle fire and it charged it no quicker than using my iphone plug. But then I don't know if it comes with a plug for the paperwhite or just the usb lead. If just the lead any pug with the usb connection (eg phone plug) works just as well.
Also it depends on who your flying with, Some friends have just flown over from Aus with Emerites and they said that they had a usb connection on personal seat screen thing...
I hope you have a brilliant flight and you can start looking for books now on amazon and they will sinc up when you start and log into your new kindle. Thanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. I chose the ordinary plug as I was just taking the Kindle with me-no other device at all, apart from my phone and this wouldn't have charged my Kindle. I knew I'd be able to charge it at the hotel or airports.
Plus, I did take an international plug adaptor with me.
Everything worked OK-but if I'd just had a USB charger I wouldn't have been able to charge the battery.
Obviously if you are taking another device you may be able to charge with a USB, but I was travelling light and what I took worked for me.0 -
On last trip 2 yrs ago, spent most of journey loving watching curvature of Earth out window , seeing great wall of china etc, the vast expanses and changes of terain....amazing is this planet of ours, never ceases to fascinate me, wreck it though we do.
I'll ask about extra's @ MrT. No time to order things by mail now, but perhaps some downloads, yes. May do in NZ too.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I recently dropped my kindle wi-fi 6inch and broke the screen. It was just out of warranty so Amazon offered me a set of replacement options (about £10-15 off the Tesco prices). I chose the paperwhite because:
- supposed to be better resolution (haven't noticed)
- I prefer the screen press to the physical buttons
- I wanted something I could use in dim-light.
I already have a tablet, so wasn't interested in Kindle fire. I certainly didn't want to sacrifice any of the ability to read in sunlight.
I have been delighted with the Paperwhite- but whereas I was fairly casual with my previous Kindle, I am considering getting a very cheap e-reader for use on beach!0
