Travel Insurance for Young Adults! Help!

Hi everyone,
I am currently 17 and will be turning 18 in May. I am going on holiday with a friend who is 21, in June. So I will be 18 when I go on holiday to Greece.

My problem is that I am booking travel insurance and when I go to book the insurance it puts me down as a child because I am currently 17. Is this a problem? Can I book it and it will cover me as an adult when I leave to go on holiday or should I wait until I am 18 to book my travel insurance?

Ahh sorry about the long paragraph!

Thank you in advance!

Wait until you're 18, then get the insurance. You don't need to get it now.

Normal advice is to have travel insurance in place as soon as the booking is made.

An illness commencing before cover is taken out won't be paid for.

Well - hold on a second.

Insurance only covers you if you have it. Let's imagine our OP breaks his leg between now and then and can't travel. No insurance = no refund.

That's why - if you're going to get insurance - get it the moment you book the tickets.

Personally - I'd give the insurance company a call and ask them.
