Advice about driveway obstructions

Hell of a photo!
How about a larger one showing the immediate area with the car obstructing?
Cones will be your easiest answer here. As for the comment about people driving over them it doesn't happen. People are far too protective of their bumper paintwork.0 -
Doesn't the Highway Code say you have to reverse in to parking spaces and drive out? Does this make reversing out of a driveway some kind of offence or something?0

Yes, it's an offence to reverse out of a drive onto a main road. Which is why I don't. I reverse back onto my drive. I can't do that when cars are parked either side of the white line: to deal with that, I just park on the road until they've gone and then go out and move it. My problem is with being able to drive out.0 -

I'm reading online though that people can shop you for putting cones on the road because they are considered an obstruction on the highway?0 -

Why not? The gap is the same distance either way.0 -

The road isn't wide enough for me to reverse parallel around them unfortunately. Tried it several times over the year. And no, before you offer the gem of suggesting I learn to drive, thems the facts simples.
Getting back onto my drive isn't what I'm asking about - I can deal with that just by waiting. My problem is with getting out onto the road.
Suggestions so far are:
1. Put cones down. Risking a visit from a copper.
2. Speaking with neighbour over their relative. Easy enough and will do. Doesn't solve issue if they refuse or for other drivers I don't know and haven't spotted who they're visiting down the road.
Any other options?0 -

Some people do, but then I drive a Disco.
Cones and wheelie bins are fair game0 -
I'd just have a chat with a neighbours expressing your concern that you will end up hitting their car if they keep parking them so close to the white lines. Tell them they must leave 2 feet between the lines and the end of their car or you can't guarantee you can get in and out safely without hitting them. See what they do. Then everytime you go out you mention it to the neighbour and tell them to see you out safely as you don't want to hit their car if they're parked close. Once you've done this several times they'll get fed up and either swear at you that they don't care whether you hit their car or start parking leaving a bit more room.0

Is getting the dropped curb widened not an option?Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Probably not. Have checked a number of councils and they will only allow a maximum of 3m for a single width drive. If the OP already has the width that their council allow for the type of drive then I don't think it will get approvedThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
