Help! Advice on cancelling wedding photographer
Comments
-
Why do you feel the need to hold the photographers hand from now until your wedding? You do realise that he probably has other weddings every week between now and your wedding?
Are you sending lots of emails and answer phone messages to the priest, florist, flower arrangers, caterers, DJ, car service, reception room provider and honeymoon hotel?
Why have you decided they are holding the photographers hand? It's more likely to be quite sensible questions they have for the photographer, so they know what he's intending to do.0 -

That would be covered at the initial appointment, along with asking for any special requirements.
The OP has probably decided they don't like laying out all the money without a reassuring email or phone call to make sure the photographer hasn't run away with their few hundred pounds, or keeps wanting to add all the uncles and aunts to the list of must have photos...====0 -

Not content with making things up in the first place, you now make up more. Why?
Isn't it entirely likely that they might just have a couple of questions that they've thought of since, and weren't covered at the initial appointment?0 -
OP, stop panicking and ring him -
It doesnt sound like there is anything untoward to worry about but ringing would set your mind at rest.
However as to cancelling, you have entered into a contract, and so you need to refer to that for cancellation, and post any specific terms here if there are any questions0 -

So you want to whine that I'm making up a scenario and you then make an alternative scenario. Some might call that being a hypocritical prat...====0 -

The difference being that you are deliberately making things up to make the OP look bad. I've asked you twice why you're doing that, but you've not answered.0 -

Until the OP comes back and confirms why she is desperate to get in touch with the photographer - and she hasn't logged on since 5 minutes after she posted (which is 3 days ago) - nobody knows if either scenario is accurate or indeed if neither of them are.
The OP has rung the photographer but he's not responding o her messages:OP, stop panicking and ring him -Please help!
We went to meet our wedding photographer a month ago - he was very friendly and helpful, replied to every email and query straight away, returned calls etc - he made us feel very comfortable and we both agreed to book him.
We paid our deposit and sent the forms off; excited we had another part of our day booked.
Since paying the deposit we haven't heard anything, he hasn't replied to any of our emails or answer phone messages. He has been writing his blogs and posting to his Facebook page, but hasn't had time to reply to us.
We want to cancel and get our money back, but I am concerned he will refuse. I feel very worried having him as our photographer.
If you cancel within a set time frame do they have to return your money?0 -
This isn't a hate campaign. We paid a deposit and sent off a contract two months ago now and haven't heard from the company. We have sent a couple of emails asking for confirmation they have received the contract and that everything is in place. After receiving no reply we have called a couple of times and left messages again to no avail. I understand it is a business and need promoting, my point with regards to Facebook etc is that a quick email to us to confirm details is not time consuming and could surely be squeezed into everything else. I also understand that they have other clients, but again all we are asking for is confirmation everything is in place after handing over a lot of money. A few hundred pounds is a lot of money for us, I don't think we are asking for a lot. All other suppliers we've dealt with have issued us with copies of contracts, receipts of deposit etc and dates of when we need to contact them nearer the time.0

Why the new username? You could be anybody. I could register on MSE as Squiggle02 and post as you.0
