Upgrading Windows XP to Windows 7: where to buy Windows 7?

Tried the obvious googling, but not as great a range of returns as I was expecting. Some of the cheaper ones were for foreign language versions and unsure whether others include the necessary product key.
Any ideas from where to purchase a decent and lower price version of Windows 7 (32 bit) Home edition pls???
[and yes have thought about the options inc. Linux but need to be able to run MS Office for the sake of my daughter's homework!]

xp still works
W7 is about a third of the price of a new pc/laptop, and is a few years old itself now.

saying that the security risks will increase over time therefore will have to upgrade at some stage. Cant afford a new PC and it wont take Windows 8 so simply looking for a cheap reliable version of Windows 7 to purchase, but there strangely doesnt seem to be too much out there???0

backup with macrium, run avast and do malwarebytes scans occasionally, don't worry.!!

I know
....
if you really want w7, maybe if you post what you've found, someone will beat the price. It's about £50 on ebay
Personally, I'm not worried in the slightest about xp support ending.!!

I recall that SOME dells of that vintage cannot run Win7 easily as the internal network adaptor does not have a Win7 driver as none was ever written for it.
So if Win7 was installed the only way to get onto the internet would have been to install a separate network card.
Smarter people on here than me will know whether or not this is the case for the 4600 - it certainly was the case with my old Dell Dim 5000 which used a broadcom XP driver.0 -
Network card wise you should be OK. It uses the Intel Pro /100 which, I think is inbuilt into Win 7This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
