sky / bt broadband

Recently agreed a deal with Sky for unlimited fibre broadband at £7.50 a month for 6 months then £20 a month and also to switch my phone and landline to them. I was previously with BT and gave my notice and got a MAC code which expires on 28th April. The phone line was taken over by Sky on 14th. I am now told by Sky there is no room on the exchange and they cant provide me with fibre broadband. They say if I want to go back to BT they wont hold me to contract on the phone as its there error so thats ok, but my issue is that BT offered me unlimited BT infinity, landline and unlimited phone calls plus caller display for £40 a month to try and stop me switching to Sky which I turned down. Do you think they'd still offer me that now that I seem to have to go back to them, how do you think I should word this phone call. I was previously paying £27 for infinity, £15.90 line rental and £5 for calls plus just under £2 a month for caller display, a total of just under £50 a month, dont want to go back to that.

If you turned down the BT retention offer it's unlikely you will get the same offer to come back, It was a retention offer to stop you leaving.

The best thing to do is place an order for a new customer deal and do it via quidco/topcashback.

It might work out better that way as BT have some voucher offers and the cashback sites are pretty good at the moment

Sky signed you up for a service they could not give you. I'd do as spyhunter suggested and then also attempt to get compensation off them for selling you something they could not provide. Or just report them.

    Report them to who?
Going to speak to BT this afternoon and see what they say, not actually used the MAC code yet so technically still a BT customer so maybe will manage to get something from retensions though not confident in getting same deal originally offered. Thought you had to have left for some time to be able to get new customer deals
