Absolutely.:T I cannot see why a supermarket chain inherited by Germany's richest man curries more favour than one owned by shareholders and run by someone who has worked their own way up from shelf stacker.

Consumers should be grateful that the likes and Aldi and Lidl are giving Tesco, and the others, a kick up the backside. They have been too complacent for too long. We should never be scared of competition.

Tesco have a really good dividend record so don't expect them to cut their dividends

    Always expect the unexpected!
I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

This is one of the things that I like about the UK - that the people appraise companies (and not just companies) on their own merits. In a few countries everything is so pro-state ("Buy American" in the USA, or the terrible ads on TV for each state in Australia that make it feel like a Western North Korea, or the hatred Samsung gets in Taiwan for being more successful than HTC, for example) - it's lovely to see people not caring that a company's head office just happens to be within a line on a map.
Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.

Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
