I've asked this somewhere else but does this account let you feed regular savings accounts at other institutions directly please?

luckily we have an expert on here, his name begins with D, he has 25 regular savers which he conducts manually, when i said on a previous sainsburys thread that it shouldnt be assumed that payments from sainsburys account will reach "all" building society regular saver accounts he was both rude and arrogant, perhaps he will be as quick to answer on this sainsburys thread as he was to answer on an earlier sainsburys thread.

No penalties. It's an instant access account.

Sainsbury's Bank is part of the HBOS group.

Jem16 , where does it say this on the Sainsbury's bank website ? I can't find it .

Do you know how the protection would work for the £31,700 bank flop limit ? I've been looking into this as after 17th September any accounts held with Bank of Scotland , Halifax PLC , Birmingham Midshires and TheAA will be treated as one guarantee (as far as I can tell) . If Sainsbury's Bank is part of Bank of Scotland then instead of spreading my money around I actually have it all under one guarantee which is bloody worrying .

From what people are saying it would appear that both Sainsbury's and Halifax are interlinked. Same sort code?

Although the sort code quoted for Sainsbury's 1 2 - 6 0 - 6 0 (I don't have an account yet, so I can't confirm/deny) is NOT identical to my BoS (part of HBOS) account...

Can anybody confirm same day/overnight from BoS to/from Sainsbury's Instant Saver?

    The nearest I can find is this;

I don't know the answer to this.

However HBOS are a major group - the chances of them going bust is fairly slim.

Halifax sort codes beging with 11. BOS sort codes begin with 80. Sainsbury's sort codes begin with 12

    Sainsbury's sort code is 12-60-60.

    BOS to Sainsbury's = instant
    Sainsbury's to BOS = overnight

To do this you must create a transfer which states "transfer to another account with us"

Blind as a bat there with your symbol/flag Jems16.... You don't happen to bank with BoS now do you?

I quite like the "constituted under an Act of Parliament dated 1695" bit...

Off to open a Sain's one now me thinks. The BACS turn around on my Icici and the multiple linked accounts with Sains, mitigates the marginally lower annual interest me thinks... Although it might actually be the highest, if you do the E=MC2 on Gross/AER.....

    Monthly interest
    Gross 6.16 Icici AER 6.30

    Annual interest
    Gross 6.20 Icesave AER 6.20
    Monthly
Gross 6.07 (on my calc) Icesave AER 6.20

    Annual interest
    Gross 6.25 Sains AER 6.25

Been with BoS for around 30 years at least. Also have Halifax accounts and now Sainsbury's accounts.

It's a pity that HBOS online banking doesn't allow you to add Sainsbury's accounts and vice-versa. That would make it even easier.

    Thanks .

I phoned Sainsbury's Bank . The bod didn't know the answer regarding the FSCS guarantee so transferred me to someone who didn't know , who went away to ask , and then I was cut off . So I've sent the question via the contact form .

Barings was going from 1762 to 1995 until it was brought down by one person . With all this CDO , sub-prime Bear Stearns news I want to be as covered as possible .
