No Telephone or internet connection

We are a very small business and due to a 'fault' we have had no telephone or internet connection for a week. This is no fault of ours and we were not notified until the connection stopped.
We operate lessons by appointment only and this is absolutely crippling us. We have to pay a lesson fee to each tutor when a lesson doesn't show up, or cancels within 24 hours and as no-one is able to get through to us, we are paying out on at least 50% of our appointments because customers can't let us know.
It would be better close the business until this is resolved,
Anyway, apart from calling them and complaining everyday, is there anything else i can do? I will be making a claim afterwards of course, but in the meantime I have asked for it to be escalated, I have spoken to a manager at Chess telecom and they just keep telling me that the problem is BT's and that they cannot give me a date.
Any advise would be really appreciated,
Thanks Gary

Unless you have a business line, with a guaranteed level of service, you can't expect much other than a credit for the rental while the line was down.
In the meantime you might be able to get the number forwarded to a mobile (preferably at no cost to you), and pick up emails through a smartphone or some other connection?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Thank you Victor.
We do have a business line but apparently the fault is too soon in the line to apply a divert. I have been asking for a divert everyday since!
yes, we are picking up emails via iphones etc and am using personal hotspots for temporary internet connections, but we have no phone, no chip/pin machine and the damage to the brand regarding potential new and existing customers is catastrophic to a small independent like us...

I'm afraid I can't offer much more than sympathy then.
Just keep harassing them and make it clear that you want compensation for lost business, until they escalate the matter, but it sounds like you're already doing that.
