Default info is wrong on my credit file

I have sold my house and when asking to port my mortgage from C&G it was declined. Upon checking my credit score at noddle it shows i have defaulted on a black horse loan every month since 2010. This is totally wrong, i have paid it every month and have the proof.
I have contacted black horse who have agreed the info they supplied is wrong and they said they have sent an urgent update to the credit defence agencies on the 11th april.
I am wondering how long this will take before lenders will see the correction as i need a mortgage asap as I may lose my buyer and the house I want because of black horses fault. Everything else on my file is up to date and no CCJ's so I am very annoyed.

If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here

The other issue you are going to have is the failed mortgage application at C&G as that is likely to now have an effect on future applications.
Basically, Black Horse's shoddy CRA reporting could now have a big effect on your ability to get a mortgage.
Not sure if there is anything you can do about it but it personally I would be fuming if it was me and would be looking at appealing to whoever the ombudsman is for some sort of compensation.
I'd get in touch with www.ico.gov.uk and see where you stand with regards to the failed mortgage application and it's affect on your credit file.0 -

Yes I agree with this.
The only other thing worth doing, is to write to Black Horse explaining this and insisting that they provide you with a letter explaining the circumstances, which you can then produce to your mortgage company. Its no guarantee but it will help.
When they admitted the information was wrong, was this in writing or on the phone?0 -
Yes I am fuming and they have only admitted it over the phone and no word of apology so shall now be following it up with a letter, but this does not help me now, I daren't apply for another mortgage until this is sorted:mad:If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here0

No, that would be a disaster as its bound to be rejected and will have another search on your file, which will start to impact on your rating with other lenders. All wrong but thats the way it is.
I think its imperitive to try and get something in writing but be careful because they will never openly admit they made a mistake. Be very careful what you ask them to put in writing, as its better to show a mortgage company something rather than nothing. If you insist that they admit their mistake, it won't happen.0 -
i haves been advised to check my file with experian which i have just done and it says my credit score is good and the loan in question is not even on there ???????If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here0

Thats great news - really pleased for you :j
Personally I'd still be writing a very stiff letter of complaint to Black Horse, I'm doing the same today to O2 who also has the same level of incompetence!0 -
Thanks sussexchick don't worry I will be complaining but it has taught me a lesson to check my credit file yearly as they had been defaulting me for 4 years and I never knew until I applied for a new mortgageIf i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here0

How will the declined mortgage damage the OP's credit file? Surely it will just show as a search. One search is no big deal. Am I missing something?0
