Legoland help please

Hi all, I've got some ppi coming back😄 and after being mse and clearing all debts I'd like to treat my lad
All he's ever wanted is legoland and being single living in lincs ,the drive frightens the life out of me! So we've never been!
I get extremely travel sick so bus is out
Train I've not been on for 30 yrs so not sure it would make me as sick? Plus it seems it would drop us in London 😱
Any tips on the drive or the train please anyone lol

What is it about the drive that frightens you? I've done London to Lincs (actually going tonight but from S Wales). If you time your journey right it shouldn't be too stressful.

I don't know I used to drive all over from one end of country to other , maybe cos I've done nothing more than a quick 1 1/2 for yrs on motorway for yrs. I think it's the thought of 5 lanes jam packed round London??

We went from Cheshire to Legoland a few years back. Is what we did was booked a hotel for 2 nights and drove down later in the day arriving at hotel around 8pm (missing the heavy traffic). We then had a full day of Legoland the following day with very little travelling, we stayed about 5 miles away, and had another lovely relaxing evening in the hotel after being completely worn out from the day.

Would that be a possible option? You can usually get cheap deals on premier/holiday inn and there are few local to Legoland. :)

We are actually thinking of doing the same again this summer, although we are now 6 instead of 4, so hotels costs might be prohibitive for us..

We travel so that we're on the M25 at the quieter times, eg 11am - 2pm or after 8pm. You can get from the A1 to the M4 in about 30 minutes that way. And it's only a few junctions on the M4 to Legoland. It's no different to driving on any other motorway. We always went up the A1 from London just because its a more interesting drive.

If you are feeling rich then you could stay at the legoland hotel- you then get into the park half an hour early and avoid some queues.
I live in Reading about 40 mins drive from Legoland and have family in Lincs - we would never go anywhere near London to drive between any of those places. We tend to do Reading to Oxford then Northampton Kettering, Stamford and on to Spalding/Donington where family live. Where in Lincs are you? I don't think you need to go near London to do it.
If you went by train there is a station at Windsor but you have to go from Slough so you'd be doing something like into London (Kings Cross??) across London to paddington- Paddington to Slough then Slough to Windsor. It would probably then be bus/taxi to legoland (in fact the Windsor park and ride bus has its car park at Legoland so there is definitely a bus.

I know you mentioned you get travel sick on a bus, but wonder if it would be worth investing in some travel sickness bands (my mother has a similar problem, but found these really helped). It is just that checking megabus do £1 fares from S!!!!hrope to Kings Cross e.g. 31st May but more dates will be added so you could keep an eye out for when these roll out. Victoria line to Oxford Circus from Kings Cross and then change onto the bakerloo line to Waterloo (15 min journey). Train from Waterloo to Eton and Windsor (about 50 mins). Then you will need to get the shuttle bus to Legoland.

If you can face the M1 to Milton Keynes, you can then cut off across through Aylesbury and High Wycombe towards Maidenhead and come across the M4 to Windsor that way. If you pick up the A330 in Maidenhead just off Junction 8 you can go round the back of LEGOLAND and come in the other way (the best way is via Drift Road which although a minor road is a really nice straight quiet road).
