I ignored parking fine and now have solicitors letter

I sought advice re this forum, over a parking ticket I received last year. I had paid to park, but had been parked in what the parking company deemed not to be a valid space (there were no lines to suggest it shouldn't be parked in, and there was plenty of room for my car, but it was at the end of a row of spaces). Unfortunately I DID ignore the original ticket and all subsequent letters about it. Because I had done, someone on the forum said I may as well now just hold off and see if I get a court summons. I have now received a solicitors letter. Ought I respond to this or not in your opinion? The company who issued the ticket are called UK Protections Services (UKPS). I realise that I should've responded initially but, as I haven't done, am not sure of the best course of action now.

firstly its not a fine , its an invoice (only a judge or court can fine you)
secondly, you havent read the 2 sticky threads at the top of this forum, as both contain advice about these types of letters, assuming its from a real solicitors and therefore an LBC, whereas its usually some debt collector letter pretending its a solicitor
their website says they are in security , not a solicitors
in future, do not ignore parking invoices for private car parks or private land
you should have appealed - and won0 -
I know I should've appealed now, and wish I had done. However, in the situation I find myself in, do you think it's just best to wait until I receive a court summons (IF I do) or to reply curtly to the letter? I did read the threads but couldn't find the answer to my question.0

The solicitors are The Ellen Court Partnership, acting on behalf of their clients, UKPS0

You should respond to these solicitors per Daisy's thread. Never heard of these solicitors before, and I cannot find them on company's house, though I'm on my phone, their website is a bit pants. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

as mentioned above, you use the reply in the lazydaisy thread in the sticky threads , so you definitely didnt read them properly if you did not see her reply with the template letter0 -
Also a simple search for the keyword 'Ellen' on this parking forum alone, finds:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4786662PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
