That's a very good point actually, Gina - thanking both the supplier of the prize, and the route that you entered through. That's something I've not experienced too much, as most of my wins have been done directly, but thank you for reminding me of that :)

If I have a prize that contains multiple suppliers' items, I try to tag them as well in the FB post.
  • I have had abit to do with pr companies since starting they seem to be the middle people between the company that advertises and the company thats giving the prize away x

I thank wherever I won the prize from.

If it was an email comp, from a page without Facebook, I'll do it to whoever sent the email. They can post it wherever then

I thank on twitter to the company who sent it

I thank on Facebook, wither PM or publicly.

If I remember, I mean, I always say thanks at the start, but when I receive I'll send a picture if I can get round to uploading it as it's such a chore with my phone :(

I have noticed a lot of people just not even thanking anymore though, I agree JessicAhh

  • I thanked my two facebook wins both on the win posts and in PM. With the perfume one i was so shocked i'd won i didn't even believe it was me until they confirmed lol.

I recieved my perfume on Tuesday morning and will be posting a pic to the facebook page to say i received it and thanking them again tomorrow eve.

And thank you again gizmobenny :D
  • I do have to say it's not easy knowing you have won on facebook.

I wonder if a lot of prizes go unclaimed because some don't realise they have won.

Say you were entering 30-50 FB comps daily, it can't be easy to keep up with end dates on there if you are not making note.

I wouldn't have known if it were not for the facebook winners thread, and i understand a lot of them don't PM you or tag your name so you get a notification.

i've only had one win on FB and i commented when i got the delivery next day - had to give some positive feedback

i think a lot of the people doing it just click anything and everything so forget what they entered and probably dont even care

Hmm. possibly on some, but not even clicking like on the post that has just announced you as a winner ?? sorry, not convinced.

People don't always see they have won.
Some may get in touch via email/DM.
Can be all sorts of reasons..

I sometimes have thanked/done a photo but tbh some other compers are like vultures instantly going through a winner's profile to see if they are genuine/deserving etc - as much as I don't like to see outright cheats I also think some people go a bit too far checking up on other winners.. so personally I don't always like to draw attention, prefer to keep a lower profile.

I'll let you know if I ever win anything on Facebook. Or more to the point, if I ever notice I've won something on Facebook.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I've had companies ask me to comment on FB/TW to prove their competition was genuine.
