Well my virgin.net email address has never worked on google docs so am guessing the content of the email remains true. Would think virgin want to deal with the email !!!! up first and then tackle the complaints about it's content afterwards, hence them telling you to ignore it - (for now).

All you needed to do was stop the account syncing in TB.
Go to the account settings.
Select "Synchronization & Storage" and uncheck the "Keep Messages For This Account On This Computer" in the "Message Synchronization" box.
Restart TB.
You can just tick the box again when the problem is resolved.

Hope I'm not tempting fate but it's all quietened down here now. Had a brief Virgin.net broadband outage and then it came back and since then no more rogue emails. Crossing fingers.
