OT: BAR Pressure issue

Slightly off topic but hoping someone can give me a little guidance.
The Thermostat on my Combi Boiler this winter has been set too 2 because any higher BAR Needle goes into the Red. The Radiators have been luke-warm.
Today, I drained about 2 cups out of the system and the Thermostat was set to 6 and the Needle stay just out of the Red. The Radiators where red hot. But when the heating was turn down, the BAR Pressure drop below 1 and the warning light came on. So the water needed to be topped up again.
Hopping A Plummer / Heating Engineer might give me some advice.
Thanks in advance.

This sounds like the built in expansion vessel has failed in some way, best get an RGI to take a look at it.0

As said above it looks like the pressure vessel has filled with water so needs to be checked and repressurised with air, although if it has filled up then the internal membrane has probably split and it will require replacement. Try giving it a gentle tap - it should sound hollow, if it doesn't then the system need checking out by a plumber or heating engineerNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

Thanks for that guys, at least I have a point to start from.0
