Which are wrong, it's not an absolute offence as you point out.0 -

Why do these threads always turn into handbags at dawn? It's a bit pathetic to be honest.
Just say 'don't agree - here's a link to the law' and move on... don't bore the pants off everyone else by trying to impress.
ETA - this is not aimed at any one person in particular but at the gaggle of 'legal beagles' that can turn anything into an argument.:hello:0 -

Yes, ones that naively participate in an interview without legal representation.0 -
Right, so you're proposing that there's no risk involved in sleeping in a car with the keys whilst drunk, if you don't talk to the police? At the very least, if you try that, you're going to be wasting a lot of sleep time or getting a trip down to the station to have your interview with legal representation.
No-one has said that you're technically wrong. Just whilst you can get away with it, it's a stupid idea nonetheless, because not everyone gets away with it and it's a significant hassle for no reason other than to make some petty point to people who are just doing their job.
This also has nothing to do with what the OP asked; it's been advised by many people that it's not a good idea to sleep in a car, and it's a worse idea to sleep in it drunk. Do you have a problem with either statement?0 -
The OP has never said he/she wanted a drink when they got to London. So all of this talk about being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle could be moot.
OP you'd be better off looking at B&Bs, EasyHotels are cheap and cheerful.0
