Electric toothbrushes heads.

If I were to buy a decent manual toothbrush (that also doesn't clean as well) it would cost around £2.50, which is more than I pay for each of my toothbrush heads.0

I bought some of the knock-off Oral B ones you can get on eBay and threw them all away after a couple of weeks as the bristles were coming out when I used them, and I'd have to rub them off my tongue and unpick them from where my gums meet my teeth!
The official heads may be expensive, but you do get quite a lot of use out of them - its not like you are buying a pack every other monthI smile because I have no idea what is going on0 -
Consoles are actually sold way below thier cost price, thats why they are so cheap compared to the equivalent pc.
All xbox and ps games basically include a licence fee that goes to microsoft/sony, and is why pc games are often cheaper
Nintendo/Wii is the exception who sell thier consoles for a profit, which is also why they lack power compared to the others
It really does depend on the console. The PS3 was sold far below not just its BOM cost but also its hilarious R&D costs (it moved into a borderline BOM profit per console in 2010), but while the 360 was sold below cost for the first few months, it quickly moved into profit purely on the hardware as the manufacturing costs went down over time (move to smaller chips, increased yields, etc) - but then you should subtract the cost of the RROD warranty fiasco! The Nintendo Wii console was sold at a profit from day one, but the WiiU was still being sold at a loss at the start of 2014 (that controller isn't cheap, y'know!). The 3DS was initially sold at a per-unit profit, but the sales weren't high enough, and after its (extremely fast) price cut it was being sold at a per-unit loss.
TL;DR: consoles can be sold at a profit, a loss, or break even, regardless of the company. They are not always loss-leaders, and not an appropriate comparison.Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.
Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.0 -

I had mixed success with generic toothbrush heads. Some lasted as long as the branded (Oral
ones. Some lasted 2 weeks when the mechanism that makes the brushes swing back and forth gets stuck and it's rubbish
