May be a ploy, make it look like spam and not all of the 70k subsribers will come looking for their money.

I bought an Ovivo data sim in October, it didn't have any instructions with it nor did the sim work using their email instructions. They sent a replacement and again, it wouldn't work so I gave up until I had time. My daughter was born a few days later so I never had any time at all and now they're dead before I got to use anything from the sim. Do I have any rights since I've not used it?

I doubt you will have any rights because I think you have to use it within 3 months but I am not an expert, think I remember reading this somewhere. Maybe if you start a new post and thread seperately to this one and then you should get a few people advise you on this.

Almost certainly it is spam. If it was genuine then all Ovivo customers would have got it.

I have 2 Ovivo sims and I never received it (and I've checked my spam box).

If only a tiny number of Ovivo customers receive it, then it must be spam. Lots of non-Ovivo customers probably got it as well, but they would know it was spam and just delete it or it would be trapped by their spam folders. It would only mean something to the tiny percentage of recipients who were Ovivo customers.

    That is how spam works.

I hope their data base has not been compromised, they hold a lot of card details.

  • I received the email too from ovivo, and it is in my inbox, not spam. And like deary65, I just hope that their database has not been compromised..

Good point, lucky my card has been cancelled since I last used it with them
  • The email IS legitimate, I know the Insolvency Practitioner.

Ovivo had 70,000 customers, so imagine the cost of sending everyone all the documents! After these letters there are the ones telling us (yes, I also had an Ovivo sim card and used it a lot) it has gone into liquidation, then there is at least one report after that.

The turnkey.biz web site is one some of us use as a central web site to host these types of reports as it can be set to link into our main insolvency software.

How do you know it isn't spam?

You are just touting for business here. Perhaps you were the one that sent the spam email?

If it was legit, then all Ovivo customers would have got it rather than a minute fraction.

It something talks like a duck and walks like a duck then it probably is a duck.
