NS&I increase Direct ISA rate to 6.30%

NS&I have increased their Direct ISA rate from 6.05% to 6.30% with immediate effect.

    Interesting to note that if you are a higher rate tax-payer, this ISA now has an equivalent to a gross rate of 10.5%.
    In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

    The reason the state that is because you would have to find a savings account thats deductable of tax of a rate of 10.5% for higher tax payers to match this ISA for returns.
    Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

    I know! I know! You are preaching to the converted.

    I thought it was important to highlight the enormous effect tax has on savings interest. This one of the reasons I always mention (tax-free) index linked certs (after ISA's) when people ask about where to put several k's of cash.

    Its kind of weird that i am drawing out my premium bonds from NSandI to put into an NSandI Direct ISA, had enough of premium bonds cos i aint winning anything.
    Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE
