Travel Delay Compensation

Can anybody help me

I have just come back from Egypt where we had a delay of 4 hours on the way out on a Thompson Flight TOM810 28 March 2014 from LGW

We were told whilst on the plane that it was a Govenor which apparently on the plane there are 2 electrical wiring looms joined by this Govenor and in the event that there is is a problem during flight the govenor switches to the other wiring loom

They tried to rebuit the system numerous times and then decided that they needed a complete new govenor which wasnt located in Gatwick and was in stores in Luton

They then decided that it would be quicker to assign a new plane to the flight which was at that time on route to LgW

At the moment Thompson have said that it is not a compensation incident

I believe that this should be covered but would appreciate the opinion of the Forum members

Many thanks in advance
