Tuesday 15th of April What Small DFW-Things Will You Be Doing Today?

When we start out on the Debt-Free Wannabe trail we do loads of big "stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the Gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free...
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

Hi all - we're a quiet bunch this morning, hope everyone's ok.
FINALLY got some antibiotics for my cough so hoping that it will be gone soon, not been getting much sleep (even less than usual) so feeling really rough.
My things for today:
1. Check online banking - all OK.
2. Check Quidco - still only at 60p so can't withdraw yet.
3. Use Boots points for meal deal - didn't need one but really fancied some juice and I need a new small bottle for bringing juice on the train with me, so added a salad and fruit for £1.05 extra and paid with points, salad can be for DH's lunch tomorrow.
4. Found 7p on the way to the train - into pennies jar.
5. Breakfast (50p WW cereal), lunch (houmous, oatcakes, avocado, cheese) and dinner (frittata, salad and wedges) from stores,
6. Collect free Higgidy pie from Waitrose, add to meal plan for tomorrow.
7. Collect free Benefit sample.
8. Post HM Easter card to M&D with RM survey stamp and envelope from work.
9. Upload pic of breakfast to Facebook for free mOma voucher. - received voucher already!
10. Freepostcodelottery and BirthdayBingo.
I think that's everything. Have happy DFW days all! xx0 -

Morning all (it is just about still morning - where does the time go!).
I'm back after a weekend away with family and a wedding on Saturday. Not a great DFW weekend (petrol and oil for the car, wedding gift and drinks to pay for) made it quite expensive but lovely to see everyone. Yesterday OH and I made a meal list and shopped at Aldi (found out there's a new one a bit nearer).
Today I have been through our bank accounts and updated my spreadsheet. Although I was feeling a bit down about our weekend spend it is the first month for a very long time that I have not used the credit card and our spreadsheet balance is in the black. So all that frugality before we went away has worked. We just need to continue now!
For the rest of the day I will be hanging out the washing, putting food into the slow cooker for tonight, walking the dogs. Maybe I'll be able to get in the garden too - needs a bit of a tidy up.
Enjoy the rest of the day:rotfl:0 -
