Is this for a rental? The EA will have their own requirements.
In any event, whether it's a rental or purchase, take a camera, pick up the inventory form from them if applicable and head straight to the property making sure everything is good, correct etc.

This is for a purchase so already have the form with whats being left behind. Its all built in stuff so should be ok, but will check!
Just wanted to know if I need to provide anything before they release the keys0 -
Best to just call and ask the EA?0

Very true, but I'm not able to do so until later today. Was just looking for past experience from previous buyers.0

Do they know you? If you've been popping into the office and they all know you already then it's probably not necessary anyway.
It depends on the area really, if it's a small/local area and you've been in a few times and two of the people have shown you round on viewings, then they'll already know it's you ..... if it's a big city they might have procedures/forms and signatures.0 -
I didn't need anything except to tell them my name and give them a signature.
I imagine each EA will have their own policy so speak to them.0 -

You may get 12 different answers though!
When we picked up the keys to our house we signed for them, picked up the bunch of flowers they bought us, and walked out.
Other EA's may have different processes, so just call yours later on today.0 -
I took photo ID, but didn't need anything beyond a pocket to put the keys in.0

Announce on arrival "I'm here to pick up the keys for 24 Acacia Avenue", and you may be asked for your name.
You will typically then be given the keys, for who else other than you, the buyer, or your solicitor, will know that 24 Acacia Avenue is settling today, and that the keys are available to be picked up?0 -
My partner went in to pick up the keys and didnt need anything other than to listen to the EA moan about not knowing that she was coming. Even though I had spoken to her husband earlier in the day and not our fault that they don't talk to one another.
But as for ID or anything, didnt need that.0
