No, it doesn't go on the bill, you can use your debit/credit card but the safest option is to purchase a google play card (usually £10 minimum) from a supermarket and load it into your google play account ( all you need is to sign up to gmail ) .

Buy a few years subscription and anything left use for other apps or to purchase a subscription for friends/relatives.

Hi, it is free for the 1st year and then its 0.69p/year.

You can manage to not pay by signing up with a different number.

A few people also seem to slip through their net and manage to get more than a year free.

I thought I would pay for several years because now that its owned by Facebook I am sure they will raise their prices soon.
  • Just out of curiosity what does whatsapp do that makes it worth paying for?

The main reason I use it is that I won't pay for picture messaging on mobile account.

With Whatsapp you can send/receive as many photos/videos as you need to anyone else that uses Whatsapp.

All my friends and family use it.

Its also good for multi-person text chat with friends/family instead of using texting.

When you consider that some mobile networks charge around 0.40p per picture message then 0.69p/year seems quite reasonable.

Doesn't email do all that? and more?

Email is different....whatsapp is more an instant messaging social site with group chats.

Personally I don't like normal social sites such as Facebook and don't use them but I find whatsapp useful between close friends and family.

I've had Whatsapp for years and never paid a penny!
