I went away to Scotland for afew days and a Scottish friend I work with asked me to bring her back some macaroon bars.

When I used to visit my Aunty and Uncle in Essex I loved Saveloy (sp??) and chips from the chippy. I've not seen saveloy in any northern chippys.

I love the crumbly black pudding we get in the central belt, Stornoway black pudding is too fatty and the English stuff has way too much fat and too little oatmeal IMHO :D

Potted beef, you just don't get it down south!

Seen it in a Sainsburys in Reading before when my late relative (died 2 years ago) shopped there.

Maultaschen (German ravioli ) and a special flour to make Spaetzle (Southern German egg noddles). I have to ask Gran to send care parcels every once in a while ;). Anyone who has connections to the buyers at Lidl or Aldi in the UK, please put a word in for me !

In the Lidl recent "German week" ( 3rd -> 9th April ) they didnt have the flour , but they did have packets of Spatzle noodles and a couple of other different varities of egg noodles. If you go in now they may have some left over from this promotion ?

Kosher food items are not available here in Bexley so I get them from east London.
I went without 'proper bagels' when I moved to Cardiff for 2 years - those supermarket bagels should be banned! If you're looking more authentic kosher food delivered, there's these guys based in Manchester http://titanics.co.uk/

I've been introduced to Staffordshire Oatcakes by a friend from Stoke.. those things are great, but you just can't buy them anywhere.

Hendersons relish - we usually lug a case back when we come back over the pennines.

    Lorne sausage

Staffordshire oatcakes (although the big Tesco has them just often enough to tempt us in...)
