BT to VirginMedia

I am currently paying over £40 a month for BT Infinity option 1 (40mb) and weekend calls from my BT land line.
Been a customer with the phone for over 23years and broadband since it was released (used to pay £54 a month for 0.5meg!).
I have called BT as I am out of contract and the best offer they could provide me was £29 for both services.
My brother is on VM and he pay £23 a month for 100meg and weekend calls and only been a customer for 4 years.
So I think its a no brainer for me to move onto Vm after many years of service however what are the best offers for new customers and is there anyway I can use my brothers contract to get a reduced contract for myself?

New customer prices are on the VM website. It's unlikely you'd get any discount on them as they usually include a cut price period and free install. Don't forget to join via a cashback site. If there is no cashback (unlikely) your brother can introduce you and there is some payout to both for that.0

Why don't you also look at alternative FTTC providers to BT? What are your LLU options? Sky, TT?
BT have long been one of the most expensive providers, how about Plusnet as a non-LLU alternative? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Well while BT have been expensive they have provided a fault free service for all these years.
I guess Virgin Media was the first to come to mind as my brother has/is using them and the costs he is paying half of what I am paying for more than double the speeds and same phone package...
What packages would you suggest?London, UK0
