Damsel with PC Problem please help!!!

:mad: :mad: Please can anyone help me with a tech problem with my pc??are you sitting comfortably?then i will begin!!

I had my desktop pc repaired and it came home fab and groovy i reinstalled my broadband now using an eternet cable rather than usb all cool went on net no probs next day after my son had removed the cable from the tower and put it into his laptop to access net when i put back in my tower and tried to connect it will not but as you can see from me being able to post this it still connects fine using my sons laptop!!

Any ideas wots happened anyone!!cant afford to take to be looked at again!!:money:

How many ethernet cards do you have? is it pluged into a different one that is not set up right (drivers ect.).

Make sure the plug is fully home, somtimes they need to be pushed in quite hard.

Is this a router you have? if so have you made port forwarding rules for it.

I think more details on what hardware you have would be helpfull.

I'm presuming you've tried a re-boot of the PC?

Go to Control Panel and then click on Network Connections. Make sure the Internet Connection or the Lan connections have not been disabled. If so, just right click on them and enable.
