Try to make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer installed. Had the same trouble and updating IE cured it.

Unfortunately MS have requested that old versions are removed from web sites !! The usual place was oldversion.com but they do not have any, however there are still some available on other sites - just becareful of the site that has them.

Out of interest have you tried running skype as administrator ?

EG right click on the Skype icon and select run as administrator.

    Thanks for the help.
I followed all of the above but no luck

One quick point - if you do try an older version make sure you have uninstalled this new version, as the old install will tell you that you have the latest version and probably not run.

    You have a PM !

Thank you I thought I would try uninstalling Skype and then do a system restore and then reinstall (I can't now remember if it didn't just appear on my desktop after the system restore)

    Anyway it's working now....
    Goodness knows what happened

    Thanks for the help
