I have it from reliable sources (seniors at ICICI) that a rate rise announcement is expected on their website tomorrow. Hope it is the complete 25 basis points that gets passed on, it would make the rate 6.3, and retain it at 10 bps above icesave. Not looking forward to moving all my savings from ICICI to my linked account and then through to icesave. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0

I take it you've somehow missed their UK freephone number...

ICICI's UK operations are actually 'run' from 21 Knightsbridge, London SW1X 7LY (one of their 'High Street' branches) - though its call centre (or some of it may be overseas)
Just as Icesave's registered address is actually in London.. with its main UK call centre in Newcastle..

I fail to understand how you are using a couple of isolated cases to typecast a whole nation. Not only do you end up tarring over a billion people with the same brush, you also potentially influence the opinion of others with extrapolative comments like that.
Pray what nationality did Nick Leeson belong to? So would you say your money is not safe with a British bank? I must say I find your comments most amusing. The best bet for people who are going to think on these lines is to stash their cash under their beds and not go to a bank at all. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0 -
Be that as it may I still dont trust them, they failed to make a rate rise at one point when ICESAVE overtook them.

Hi
You are obviously entitled to your opinion, and in fact I actually share your concerns on a number of gaps that this forum has revealed on the ICICI servicing aspect. I guess it is one of those things which is good so far as nothing goes wrong, but if it does, it becomes a pain. I am probably one of the lucky guys (and I believe that a majority of us are in that category) who haven't had anything go wrong with their account.
My mail was in response to your apparent generalisation of India and Indians, which I have to disagree with. It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!0
