Hi all, a little update for you.

Son took the letter to McD's last week, they took it off him and said they'd deal with it - I was a bit anxious because he didn't do as I said and give them a photocopy, he gave the actual letter, hence no scan to you, Parking Prankster (sorry about that). I had visions of everything going wrong.

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I had another letter today confirming that the charge has been cancelled. Hoorah!

Thank you all very, very much for your help in this matter, which was a great worry to me.

In future, whenever I hear of other people in similar situations I will point them in the direction of these threads.
