I would have thought that the club would have insurance for just such a thing. If they are not interested maybe your going to have to take them to court
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

I suspect that in the clubs terms and conditions, members are advised that parking cars in the club car park are at their own risk due to the very nature of people hitting solid balls into the air. This will apply to all visitors to members (who should explain the T&C) so very unlikely that anything will come of it.

A car parked near the cricket ground was damaged when a ball was hit out of the stadium into it. House of Lords ultimately ruled that it was not negligence as it isnt the intention to hit the ball out the grounds and it was effectively a freak event that didnt require the club to have considered reasonably possible and thus didnt have to take measure to protect against it happening.

To argue negligence from the club you'd need to look at layouts of the grounds/ safety equipment etc and say if it was reasonably predictable that this may happen or if its just a freak occurance as per the above case.

Of cause negligence to property damage can also be avoided through contractual terms which you'd agree to by using their facilities.

Thanks for the advice! I will just need to put this one down to experience. The golf club were typically not interested in anything I had to say anyway.

It's a shame they aren't interested in helping.

This happened to twice at 2 different clubs and no-one admitted fault (both have a honesty book for club insurance but it wasn't filled out)

I claimed on the Golf Club's insurance and they paid out without any argument.

Exactly what I was going to say. Any golf club worth its salt will/should have insurance for such events ....
