Tesco, Baby Milk and Clubcard points

I don't know if this happens everywhere (or if local health authorities still do it even) but I used to get the first formula milk from the "community health clinic" in town. Roughly worked out to be £2-£2.50 off a box. They didn't used to do the follow on milks so once my two were six months I used to buy the boxes from Tesco/Asda wherever, but they're usually cheaper than the first milks anyway.
I'm surprised the small print on your voucher didn't mention that it wasn't redeemable against baby milk as they usually do. I think it also sometimes says you can't redeem vouchers at the ciggarette kiosk too.

Unfortunately milk is no longer available at my health clinic and I am sure this is nationwide.

I can't explain why ordering online allowed you to use vouchers - probably the system.
However Boots, Tesco etc exclude many medicines form points offers. I assume it i sbecause they do not want to encourage over purchasing for the purpose of getting points. It probably depends on potency and complications. Of course sometimes they do special offers such as 3 for 2 on hayfever meds.
Just a theory, I might be wrong.
None of this excuses rudeness on behalf of CS staff - a gentle explanation goes a long way.0 -
Perhaps you need to look at this in perspective. It's not something you really should be wasting time getting upset about. Tesco are only selling infant formula within the guidelines of not promoting bottle feeding.
I get no clubcard points for 10 years of breastfeeding either. I can also suffer rude people making comments about my breastfeeding in public. It's just something you can put up with if you want a stress free life. Rudeness is bad in any circumstances but it's their problem to worry about.
Enjoy your new bundle of joy.0 -

I had heard this was going to be the case, I just wasn't sure if they'd stopped doing it yet (I was still buying milk from the clinic up until last July). I'd heard they were going to give vouchers for fruit and veg instead.
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -

Those on low incomes can get these Healthy Start Vouchers to use on Milk, fruit, veg (so great for those breastfeeding/with young children), or formula milk.
I just find it hard that with all the pressure to breastfeed , those who physically cant are made to still feel guilty & get a total lack of information about bottle feeding.
I also find I get more dirty looks when I pull out a bottle in public than I ever did when I breastfed my first child. You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0
