Parents.. how much slack can you cut them?

In which case the toxicity of your relationship with them will just get worse and worse. That is no environment that any children of yours should be exposed to. Your parents are not your responsibility and you have nothing to feel guilty about. It sounds as if your childhood and much of your adult life, has been negatively affected by them and the drama that surrounds their daily lives. Enough is enough, keep ties cut and concentrate on your own family is my advice.

Do you blame your parents for losing custody? would you have lost custody if they had been there? If they died, would you feel guilty that you hadn't spoken to them? Only you can answer your own question as to whether you will send them a pic etc of your child. My opinion is that life is too short to have arguments, make up, send a pic of baby, but don't live in each others pockets.0

Put yourself in your parents shoes and ask yourself what you would want to happen, say in 20 or so years time if your kids stopped talking to you.
Would you want your kids to keep ignoring you or would you want them to communicate?
They reckon life mirrors itself.
As someone who doesn't speak to their father, I would have to say you need to strongly consider why your kids would stop talking to you. If I behaved how he has towards anyone else, then I wouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't want to have anything to do with me.0
