Problem with Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000

Hi everyone

I've had a Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 for almost two years and up until a week or so ago, everything worked perfectly. However, the phone has now developed a problem and I wonder if anyone can help me with this?

The phone is showing as 80% or so charged but as soon as I switch on mobile data / wifi when the phone is not being charged, the screen starts to flicker and within a few seconds, the screen blacks out. I then have to put it back on charge.

There doesn't seem to be a problem when the phone is not being used for mobile data / wifi or when I am using certain apps.

I thought there might be a problem with the battery but when I suggested this to a techie in our local mobile phone shop, he said he didn't think it was but didn't offer any other suggestions!

Thank you,

chessfan

I think it is the battery. Does it do this when plugged into a charger

Pretty sure it will be the battery. Phones gauge how much charge the battery has by measuring its voltage, it doesn't mean it doesn't have a fault even if it shows as being well charged.

It sounds like yours has gone high impedance, its internal resistance has increased. When you turn on wifi etc your asking for more current and with too high a resistance the voltage collapses (Ohms law) and the phone shuts down.

If it behaves as long as its plugged in to a charger then its certain.
