Good afternoon all
Our boiler seems to be going on the blink - since Friday night it has turned itself off three times, and we managed to restart using the 'reset' button, but this time it has gone off and I have spent most of today trying to restart it
I have called the landlord, but was told it will be at least a week with no heating and hotwater as we are not a priority (no babies or elderly in the house)
I have turned the entire boiler off serveral times in the vain hope this may do something, and have pressed the reset button about a million times - does anyone have any other suggestions? cheers

When this happened to our boiler the cause was the circuit board and a new one was needed. Not a long job but a part plus labour that cost just over £125.
I wouldn't put up with this "not a priority" nonsense. Have you thought about ringing at 2.30a.m. to ask why you aren't a priority?0 -
I have just rang them back, to be set as a priority you have to have young children or the eldery.
I got the impression it could be days before they even send someone outThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
fault code means ''Low water pressure in the Central Heating circuit.'' - water coming out of it now..The opposite of what you know...is also true0

What d you mean by 'water coming out of it now'?
Have you checked the pressure gauge? If low then repressurise via the filling loop.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

What sort of priority is this? Do you pay lower rent in order to be given a poorer service? You are entitled to your landlord acting in a timely manner, generally you should expect the same level of service as if your were a home owner and responsible for fixing the boiler yourself. Would you say you can live without hot water for a week? Complain. In writing.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
