Fab news mhoc :T
Love the quilt Emma.
Karlie I only have £2k total that I could play around with. Can I open the TSB account with £1500 and earn the interest on that, sending the other £500 back and forth each month, or do I have to keep the full £2k in the account all the time to get the interest? Sorry if a dim question, I just can't quite get my head round it. TIA0 -
They are always your babies whatever age they are.
I think all three of mine enjoy a dangerous lifestyle.
In order of worry
1 Eldest daughter works in central London - random stabbings in the next street to where she works, no control over these things
2 Youngest son - climbs mountains for a living but at least he is well trained and competent
3 Eldest son - army but at least he has a concrete bunker to go to
All my kids have extreme hobbies, kayaking and climbing being the most nail biting for me! DS1 lives in the middle east, we (OH and me) also put together an escape plan .... just in case! DS1 thinks we are loony, I think he was right when we sent him a sea kayak when he was in Qatar! The reason being was the US had lined up their war ships about 2.5 years ago!
DS3's job is with explosives. I have to admit I only worry about DS1, as it is beyond my/his control!:D:D

My nephew did his 1st 6month tour with the Welsh Guards a week after his 18th birthday  My brother and SIL were on edge the whole time. And he had to do a 2nd tour a couple of years later. Such a relief for him to get homemiss_corerupted wrote: »OMG you must be so relieved Today is the 2nd anniversary of my BIL death whilst serving in Afghanistan. I'm banning DS from joining. Yes that's ok.
But why not leave the £2k in the account all the time? You can then transfer the £500 out to another current account and send it back to the TSB account on the same day; within the same minute.
That way you're earning 5% AER interest on £2k for the full calendar month; and you still have access to your money for when you need it.:grouphug:Official MSE canny forumite and HUKD VIP badge member
