Nobody probably knows I glitch apart from my OH who doesn't really comment and doesn't know what glitches I get, and my 7 year old DD's who just think like today I was totally mad buying over 20 bottles of juice and laugh at me and say "mam" a lot and what are you doing, " what if somebody see's us" my girls are funny....
I have tried to explain to friends and family before and honestly nobody is interested even when I have given stuff away. Obviously not everyone wants to save money on shopping bills.
That's the only reason why I do it too to save money, I haven't bought toothpaste for over 2 years and I am getting a little nervous as I only have 7 tubes left!!!!! And it's all thanks to the lovely people on this site. A massive thank you from me. Xxxx
I try to pass on the money saving ideas/glitches to my Mum. It doesn't always work out though.
karlie88: Mum there's a way to get paid for Nivea deodrants in A$DA.
karlie88's Mum: Oooooh! How?!
karlie88: Well, you know the A$DA Price Guarantee where they promise to be 10% cheaper than other competitors...
karlie88's Mum: You've lost me.

Here, hopefully before the day is out on T PP is a Tvs M shop, for those who like the rush of going for substantial risks, knocked up in a few minutes:D:
Packets & Cereals
Tesco Everyday Value Spaghetti (500g)20p 16p:rotfl:
Frozen
Tesco Everyday Value Garden Peas (900g)£1.00 89p (I've gone for Tvs M on this one due to 'weight issues' between the A S/price and M one. Sadly it seems there's no weight advantage in T. A would adjust prices, so wouldn't gain any, but T and M are same weight so no advantage there.)
McDougall's Upper Crust Deep Filled Chicken & Asparagus Pie(680g)£3.00 £1.74 (but only gone on offer today - so :eek::eek:)
(But McDougall's Upper Crust Deep Filled Steak Pie(650g) is 'buy in M' apparently.)
Tins, Jars & Cooking
Bart Lemongrass in Sunflower Oil (90g)£1.75 48p:eek::eek::rotfl:
Bakery
Cadbury Hot Chocolate Sponge Puddings (2x110g)£2.00 £1.00
Ready Meals
2xGinsters Chicken & Mushroom Slice (204g)Any 2 for £2.00 £2.00 bogo'f':rotfl::eek: Though I think very likely it may pick up full prices at M and take money away from you - you'd be safer in my view comparing 2vs A as should be N/A there.
Household & Pets
Tesco Everyday Value Cream Cleaner (500ml)30p 30p:eek:
Plus the Indian and Chinese meals are on 3 for £5 in M. You know better than me which ones to use!:D
Enjoy the energy rush!:D For those who wish to risk, at their own risk.0 -
Anyone else been on benefits here? I've been on benefits twice in my life. First time when I came out of uni and couldn't get a job and then early last year before I found this thread. I gave a portion of this allowance (I was getting around £35 a week) to my parents to help with household bills.
I have an iPad, a Samsung phone, nice clothes. Things I bought when I had work. I probably got a fair few raised eyebrows at the job centre for not looking how someone on benefits should look. But the truth of the matter was, I was bad with money. I didn't have any savings to fall back on once I was without work. So the little bit of job seekers allowance I got (after paying in taxes for years) I used to pay bills and give money to my parents.
I do think that money management should be taught in school. I'm just fortunate that I live in a country where you can get help if you need it. I hope I never to have to sign on again but you never know what life will throw at you.
I've enjoyed reading everyone's stories today. And when I think back to those times I'm even gladder I found you all
I was on benefits after I finished mat leave and had split from ex very hard to get a job with a baby was on for a few years until I got the job I'm in now and although it doesn't pay much more than benefits I would rather be working0 -
Just been watching Harold Shipman documentary on 5 Demand.
That man did some truly shocking and horrific things.

Haha I have had similar conversations myself...
I always think what if anyone was to see my stashes I think I would be embarrassed especially my shampoo and lynx :huh:We're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits.0 -

She has a 50 inch tv, top range stereo and surround sound, speakers, x-box, play station and god knows what else. She runs 3 mobile phones, all of them on a blackberry, Nokia summat or other and another smartphone
Yet here's me, on my modest salary, living "comfortably" and still watching every penny I spend. What the hell is wrong with the system where they can have all that but eating isn't the top priority
I think generally they have bought when they worked or have got it on the never never0 -
